by Sean Phillip Hartley Visit Date:May 9, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The room was nice, decent shower. Pool was very nice. Location was good, mostly a quiet area away from most of the bars, but they re only a 10 minute walk away. Staff met us at the pier and carried all of our bags to and from the hotel.Included breakfast was EXCELLENT, and the staff there were extremely friendly and polite. The only bad part of the location was the mosque right next door. They do a loud call to prayer five times a day, starting at 5am. If you re a light sleeper, this will get on your nerves. One day the water in our room (and next door) went brown for a few hours. We asked the hotel staff for a bottle of water to brush our teeth etc, and they blew us off telling us to buy one at the shop next door.TV in English was quite limited. Maybe 7 channels, and 6 of those showed nothing but Southern USA Baptist preachers. If that s your thing, then I suppose that s a positive. The only other channel was Russia Today, which appears to be the propaganda arm of the Russian government. It got old quickly.Overall, I really liked this hotel and despite the negatives above and I would stay there again." |
by Hjort Sara Maria Amanda Visit Date:April 10, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Nice hotel with friendly staff. The pool was very warm, but clean. We had some problems when we checked in. Somebody had cancelled their first night at the hotel and the staff thought it was us, so our bungalow was already taken. Fortunately they upgraded us to a superior room that night." |
by James Nguyen Visit Date:March 5, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the main building, which was as nice as could be expected. Location was towards the west end of Main street. This seemed a little out of the way at first, but it was nice not having all the commotion from the bars closer to the center of Tonsai. Also a reasonable walk to Long Beach, which was our favorite part of the island. You won t go wrong...highly recommended." |

by Damian Visit Date:February 20, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We stayed 3 nights in a superior room and it was definitely overpriced! Rubbish view behind the window, a lot of mosquitos in the room, strange water presure in bathroom, very dirty water in swimming pool but it was not a big problem cause we never use it.Phi Phi was our worst place in Thailand. Dirty and comerciall. We will never go there again." |
by Jay Davis Visit Date:February 18, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I stayed in the new building (3 or 4 stories)and the front is open allowing hundred of mosquitoes to invade your room daily...every night we killed 12-20 mosquitoes in our room!!!Front desk staff rude and surly. When I arrived they started on a lecture on our hotel policy , I cut the girl short and informed her I was an adult (53 yrs old) and their guest and didn t need the lecture she give European college kids!" |
by V eronica Mary Copping Visit Date:February 18, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "hotel quite a haven on this increasingly over crowded island. its away from all the noise but near enough to everything you need. we stayed in the new hotel block and were not disturbed by the mosque next door. our room(twin beds) was at the back overlooking the interior, but those at the front(double bed) afforded a beautiful view out to sea. would go there again" |

Rooms are beautiful, as is the entire resort, its all very new and clean. The hotel staff are super nice and its in a good location - close enough to the bars to walk, but far enough away that its quiet at night. I d definitely return here." |
